Photography adventureFor February 2013 I am posing a photography challenge:
To do a 1 picture a day all throughout February, in itself that`s not really a challenge, the challenge lies in the photos, straight out of the camera shot with basicly no editing ( lens correction and max 5% of sharpening/clarity to the images ) and no cropping.
If HDR is needed it is natural HDR as close to what you saw as possible.
I think most knows that for an image to be catching and interesting among many others it needs a lot of contrast, vibrancy and be sharp ( without going over the top. ) so in essence this challenge is to make catching photos with no editing, that again makes the selection of subject to shoot so much more important.
This way of shooting is a really good way to learn, and I think anyone who does something like this will be a better photographer for it.

Wildlife CompositionWay back in February my good friend ~brpestilence wrote a very informative blog on the Basics Of Framing, I thought that I would build on that with a similar post tailored specifically to wildlife work.
I’m going to start with a small amount of human neuroscience; The human brain is hardwired to look for faces. This is why you see faces in lots of things like cloud formations or the patterns on a tree. The reason for this is that it is a part of our instinctive social behaviours. As interesting as this, how does it apply to photography? Simple, when we look at a picture which contains a face (or something resembling a face) we are drawn to that. Therefore this can be a very powerful tool which you need to think about when you’re composing your shots. It doesn’t matter if it is a person, a deer, a monkey or an insect we will be draw
